Oh La La! Paris’s trendy and original new hotel
Revolution always starts from the Place de la Bastille
In the wake of the speakeasy craze - hidden bars that you discover by pushing a secret door at the back of a stall - here's the first hotel hidden behind a cocktail bar!
This isn't an escape game, but a very real experience, christened Oh la la! and located on the Place de la Bastille.
Design
The interior design was entrusted to a couple of young architects, Anna Leymergie and Lancelot Letellier, founders ofOTSO Studio. They created a chic, subdued atmosphere at the bar, where guests sit on soft banquettes and around high tables.
A little further on, a back door in a bookcase reveals a staircase leading to the 6 floors, which in turn lead to the bedrooms. The 16 rooms are bright, with light tones and soft materials. In most of them, wooden platforms enhance the location of the bed, to take advantage of the exceptional view over the Place de la Bastille.
