Bastille

District

Welcome to Place de la Bastille, a symbolic location which beats to the rhythm of Parisian life. Since 1989, Opéra Bastille has presided over the square, sitting opposite the July Column.

Its central location and multiple transport options mean it is only a few minutes from the best Parisian museums.

Culture

Opéra Bastille is our neighbour and we are well-connected to public transport so you can quickly reach all of the best museums in Paris. However, we recommend walking to the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral and strolling around Ile Saint Louis.

Food

Alain Ducasse recently opened his Manufacture de Chocolat just down the road from us.
And only a stone’s throw from the hotel, you can find top restaurants: Gourmet coffee shop Muscovado, extremely elegant Dersou, appointment-only Septime, East Mamma – the first in the Big Mamma family – and Buffet for good French cuisine.

Nightlife

In addition to our own cocktail bar, we highly recommend our friends at Moonshiner for a speakeasy cocktail and the great drinks at Lone Palm, Sherry Butt and Bluebird. For those who want more, Badaboum and Pachamama have all the night-time action.

Activities

It is located only a stone’s throw from the Marais district – the mecca of shopping in Paris – which has shops open Sundays. The Bastille district is one of the liveliest in Paris, with its many cafés, bars, restaurants and cinemas. And the Arsenal Port is ideal for strolling around or going for a run.
